Why A New Garden Gate Was Needed

We recently completed a new garden gate installation in Milton Keynes for a domestic customer. The old gate was worn, unstable, and no longer fit securely. It had started to rot at the base and was leaning due to weak hinges.

The customer wanted a replacement that was both strong and tidy. They also needed better privacy and improved access to the garden. We agreed that installing a new wooden gate with treated timber was the best option.

The Gate Installation Process

We began by removing the old gate and its fittings. The existing posts were also damaged, so we replaced those too. After clearing the area, we set new timber posts into the ground using post mix to make sure they were solid and level.

Next, we fitted the new gate, checking its swing and alignment to avoid any future issues. We used heavy-duty hinges and a secure latch system to make sure the gate closed properly and stayed in place when shut.

Once the gate was fitted, we treated all exposed timber to help protect it from future weather damage. This adds years of life to the gate and keeps it looking smart for longer.

Results For The Customer

The finished gate was solid, well-fitted, and complemented the rest of the garden fencing. It gave the customer more privacy and improved the look of the side entrance. They were pleased with how neat and sturdy the final result was.

We also gave them advice on how to look after the timber, including when to reapply treatment and how to stop swelling or warping over time.

This new garden gate installation in Milton Keynes is a good example of how a simple upgrade can improve both function and appearance. By replacing old materials with strong, treated.
